Individual Performance Development

The IPD (Interactive Performance Development) process was first developed in 1994 to address the five most common problems with performance assessment:

  1. The problems with grading
  2. The ratcheting up effect
  3. Report carding which looks back not forward
  4. Inconsistent organization language or performance standards
  5. The problems with narrative

The IPD, considered to be one of the most powerful and useful performance development tools, is a performance feedback and assessment instrument that graphically exposes the gaps in existing perceptions about someone's performance. This user-friendly instrument measures 33 performance characteristics in these six major performance areas:

  • Leadership
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Work style
  • Communication style
  • Fiscal accountability
  • Management style

The IPD can be used in a 360° manner, a simple one-way performance development process for an employee, or a two-way interactive perception check.

The IPD is easily retrofitted to fit your company's needs and culture.
